Jeeno Thitikul entered the final round of The Standard Portland Classic two strokes behind the leaders Sunday and finished the afternoon holding the championship trophy after an 8-under-par 64 carried her to a one-stroke victory at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
Thitikul finished the four-day LPGA Tour event at 22-under 266, securing her third victory of the 2026 season. The 23-year-old from Thailand began Sunday behind 54-hole co-leaders Sophia Schubert and Arpichaya Yubol, but five consecutive birdies early in her round quickly eliminated the deficit and moved her to the top of a tightly packed leaderboard.
The final round produced some of the lowest scores of the tournament as several players remained within reach of the championship. Thitikul’s 64 ultimately provided the difference, although fellow Thai golfers Chanettee Wannasaen and Yubol remained close through the finish. Both ended the tournament one stroke behind Thitikul and shared second place, giving Thailand the top three positions in the final standings.
Wannasaen made the largest Sunday move among the leading contenders, closing with a 9-under 63 to climb into the tie for second. Yubol, who began the day sharing the lead with Schubert, shot a final-round 67 and finished one stroke short of the championship. The result was Yubol’s third runner-up finish of the 2026 LPGA Tour season.
Schubert entered Sunday in position to earn the title after shooting a 67 in Saturday’s third round to share the lead with Yubol. She closed with a 1-under 71 and finished fourth as the scoring pace accelerated around her. With Thitikul shooting 64, Wannasaen posting 63 and Yubol recording 67, the championship was decided among players who combined for a series of low final-round scores.
Thitikul’s victory adds another title to a 2026 season in which she has remained among the leading players in women’s professional golf. She arrived in Portland ranked among the top players in the world and had already recorded two LPGA Tour victories this season. Her performance in Oregon increased that total to three while continuing a year in which she has regularly competed near the top of LPGA leaderboards and in major championship fields.
The Standard Portland Classic was played Aug. 13 through Aug. 16 at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, continuing a professional golf tradition in Oregon that dates to 1972. The tournament is one of the longest-running events on the LPGA Tour schedule and has brought many of the sport’s leading international players to Portland during its more than five decades of competition.
Columbia Edgewater has hosted the tournament for much of its history and again provided the setting for four days of LPGA competition this year. The 2026 field included established tour winners, international competitors and players seeking their first LPGA championships, with the tournament remaining closely contested through Saturday before Sunday’s scoring separated the leading group.
The victory continued a recent run of international champions in Oregon. Japan’s Akie Iwai won the 2025 Portland Classic after shooting a final-round 66 to secure her first LPGA Tour title. Thitikul followed this year with an even lower Sunday score, completing the final 18 holes in 64 and overcoming the two-stroke deficit she faced at the start of play.
Thailand’s sweep of the first three positions also gave the 2026 tournament a distinctive finish. Thitikul, Wannasaen and Yubol were separated by only one stroke after 72 holes, with Wannasaen’s 63 representing the lowest score among the three Sunday contenders and Thitikul’s 64 providing the total necessary to win.
For Oregon, the tournament brought another week of top-level professional golf to Portland and continued an LPGA relationship that has lasted more than half a century. The event remains a regular stop on the women’s professional golf calendar and one of the state’s longest-running annual professional sporting competitions.
Thitikul began Sunday needing to make up two strokes and accomplished it during a five-birdie stretch that changed the final-round standings. She completed the tournament at 22-under 266, one shot ahead of Wannasaen and Yubol, adding The Standard Portland Classic championship to her 2026 record and leaving Oregon with her third LPGA Tour victory of the season.
