The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office detained an individual on outstanding warrants last night following her involvement in an extended law enforcement pursuit that resulted in injury. Deputies arrested 25-year-old Lacey Marie Cullison at the Williams Highway Safeway on Tuesday at 7:36 p.m.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident commenced when deputies identified a stolen pickup occupied by three individuals on Highway 238 near Allenwood Drive. The suspects proceeded south on the highway to Murphy, where they turned left onto North Applegate Road, leading authorities to Kubli Road while speeding and overtaking other vehicles on blind corners. During the pursuit, a load of firewood spilled from the truck, obstructing the roadway. The chase continued back toward Grants Pass.
Cullison sustained injuries when the stolen truck collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Williams Highway and New Hope Road. She was subsequently transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Medical Center for medical attention. Identified as a suspect in a burglary case, Cullison checked herself out of the hospital before deputies could make contact. She was later located at the supermarket, in possession of multiple pieces of jewelry not belonging to her.
Lacey Cullison has been incarcerated on two Grants Pass warrants for failing to appear in court for 1st-Degree Forgery and Possession of a Forged Instrument, with additional charges pending further investigation. The stolen pickup was recovered, although there is no information provided regarding the other two suspects in the vehicle.
