Grants Pass, Oregon
Dutch Bros coffee plans strategic exit from Oregon. Last week it was announced that approximately 40% of the total support staff positions within the company are set to move to Phoenix within the next year. Although the exact number of positions affected has not been confirmed, Dutch Bros, with over 800 stores across 16 states, emphasizes that this move is part of its strategic operational adjustments. The company asserts that Arizona’s location is now more central to its operations, providing logistical advantages for transportation, particularly in comparison to Southern Oregon. Additionally, Dutch Bros is in the process of constructing a second roasting facility in Texas, slated to open later this year.
Despite attempts to seek comments on the decision, a representative from Dutch Bros was not available for input.
This shift comes under the leadership of Christine Barone, who assumed the role of CEO this year. Based in Arizona, Barone previously served as the company’s president for the past year and brings valuable experience from her executive position at Starbucks. Her ambitious goal is to expand Dutch Bros to a total of 4,000 locations within the next 15 years.
Dutch Bros affirms its commitment to maintaining a substantial presence in Grants Pass, including retaining its main roasting facility.
Future details to come as this story develops.
