The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a man for allegedly violating a court order by visiting his parents’ property in the Williams area. William George Muir, 39, was taken into custody at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the 900-block of Tetherow Road. Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call from the property, reporting that Muir, also known as “Billy,” was on the premises and hiding in a shed, contravening a court order intended to protect the residents from contact with him.
This incident follows Muir’s initial arrest on July 19th of the previous year for domestic violence against his family. Subsequent arrests occurred on September 13th for Menacing and Criminal Mischief, and on October 5th and December 15th for Contempt of Court. Additionally, a neighbor reported on Friday that Muir had allegedly stolen a wedding ring from her house.
William “Billy” Muir was transported to Grants Pass and booked into the Josephine County Jail on charges of Contempt of Court-Restraining Order Violation. He is being held without bail. The unfolding events highlight a series of legal issues surrounding Muir and underscore the importance of law enforcement responding to reported violations of court orders.
