(Josephine County, OR May 3rd, 2024) – The Josephine County Jail reported that a 32-year-old Adult in Custody (AIC) named Zachary Dumont was found unresponsive in his single cell around 5:40 PM. Despite immediate medical assistance and the subsequent arrival of personnel from the Grants Pass Fire Department and AMR (American Medical Response), Dumont could not be revived and was pronounced deceased.
The circumstances surrounding Dumont’s death have prompted an investigation led by detectives from the Oregon State Police. The primary focus of this investigation is to determine the cause of death. However, the Sheriff’s Office has refrained from disclosing any further details pertaining to the incident at this time.
